The Fit Girls Run Club is a program of Seaside Run Club, an affiliate of the Road Runners Club of America and through RRCA, a 501(c)3 organization. Fit Girls Marblehead is a running program for 4th, 5th and 5th grade girls that builds self-esteem and confidence, and helps girls connect and give back to their community.
The majority of the program consists of non-competitive workouts designed to gradually and safely build endurance to run or walk the 5K (3.1 mile) race distance. At the end of the 6-week training season, girls participate in a local 5K race as they celebrate both fitness and community.
The Fit Girls meet twice a week after school, although it is acceptable for girls to participate in only once practice a week to fit family's schedules. A program will be conducted in both the spring and the fall. Fit Girls Marblehead began in the Spring of 2012 to great success. Visit our feedback page to read about the Fit Girls experiences!
