Fit Girls Spring Registration will open on April 1, 2015. The program prepares the girls to complete a 5k at the end of the season. Girls progress at their own “just right” pace, while also participating in our educational curriculum that includes topics such as goal setting, self-esteem, confidence, teamwork, and more. The program is open and welcoming to all girls and no prior running experience is necessary!
NEWS for SPRING 2015:
As the program has grown and developed, we learn and make modifications and adjustments based on our experiences. We have a few updates and changes to share:
- · For the spring 2015 season, we are very strongly encouraging girls to participate in both days of Fit Girls each week. We have found the curriculum and training to be much more beneficial and meaningful when girls are committed to attending both days. In the fall, two day participation will be mandatory.
- While we are anxious to get out and shake off the winter, Mother Nature has had different plans. Please be aware that we may be out running on sidewalks in and around the Village School area instead of focusing on the track if conditions to not allow for utilizing the school grounds. As always, safety is our top priority.
- We are adding in a post-race “wrap-up” session on the Tuesday after our 5k celebration. We found this to be a great opportunity to reflect on the season with the girls and hear their feedback.
- The program will begin on April 14. The first two sessions of the program will be held indoors and will focus on goal setting and program expectations and curriculum.

Volunteers:
We are seeking volunteers to help as coaches again this season. We ask that coaches commit to attending at a minimum of one day per week but can certainly attend two. A regular schedule ensures we have enough coaches each session to help out. Please email us if you are able to be involved this session.
